A Wii Bit of a Problem

This article made me smile.  Apparently some people are really getting into their new Wii games, and their remotes are flying and breaking things as a result.  Sweaty hands and people letting go of the remote are apparently the culprits.  One bowling game that requires you to move your arm like you are bowling is apparently causing problems because people actually let go of the remote as they would a real bowling ball.  Nintendo is apparently “looking into” wrist straps breaking.

Wrist straps?  I think they should look into wrist straps not being worn.  Seriously, I would have never worn it.  I would have looked at it and thought, “Well, that’s gay.” (Sorry, that’s how I talk.  Not PC, but that’s me.)    I’d, of course, be one of those people looking at the hole in my TV saying, “Oh.  So, that’s what the strap was for.”

Then again, this could just be an ingenious conspiracy by some men to get that HDTV their wife won’t let them buy.  “Gosh honey, I can’t believe I did that.  How silly of me.  The rock?  Oh, well, I held that in my hand with the remote to add weight.  I guess we should just go HD since they’re so cheap now.  Bummer.”

Gift Card Thieves.

This is a foward I received and a little something to think about. I know I will be paying closer attention to this now.

Well, the crooks have found a way to rob you of your gift card balance. If you buy Gift Cards from a display rack that has various store cards you may become a victim of theft. Crooks are now jotting down the card numbers in the store and then wait a few days and call to see how much of a balance THEY have on the card. Once they find the card is “activated”, and then they go online and start shopping. You may want to purchase your card from a customer service person, where they do not have the Gift Cards viewable to the public.

Walmart Giftcards actually have a place that you have to scratch off to get you code to check the balance. So that may be something else to look for when buying a gift card. We have bought some online this year also and I would say that is also a safe bet.

Christmas Pictures

You may notice that Jennifer has uploaded our Christmas pictures to Flickr.  I particularly like the one of Grace reaching into the box.

Update On Jennifer

Last week Jennifer had a doctor’s appointment.  The doctor pretty much told her she didn’t have to stay on bed rest because he thought she would be fine.  When we quizzed the doctor, the conversation went something like this (NOTE: I may have made up a part of this):

“Can I pick up my daughter?”
“Can I do house work?”
“No, no housework.”
“Can I do a headstand and twirl plates on my toes?”
“Can you really do that?”
“Then, No.”

We decided that for the next few days we would let Jennifer watch Grace and see how it went, and so far everything has been going fine.  I did threaten to take pictures of the house when I leave in the mornings so I can compare them to what I see when I get home.
